Responsible breeding is the one of the most important things we owe to each donkey. Every donkey, as with every human, has weak points. Each breeding should match a mature jennet with a mature jack who excels where she is weak. Culling our herd is the hardest job we do. Every year we assess our foals. Was this a good pairing? Could we achieve better, healthier? Raising healthy hearty animals is a continual learning process!
